The Southern
Right Whale (Eubalaena australis) is a baleen
whale, one of three species classified as right
whales . Around 12,000 Southern
Right Whales are spread throughout the southern part of the Southern Hemisphere. They grow to 16 meters (62 feet) in length
and can weigh up to 73,000 kilograms (80 tons).
